Gerhard Blechinger

Gerhard Blechinger is Rector of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences since 2015. From 2011 until 2015 he was Head of the Degree Programme MultiMediaArt at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences. He was Vice-Rector for Research and Development and Head of the Institute for Design and Technology at the Zurich University of the Arts. Gerhard Blechinger was Vice-President of the consortium of German Universities for the foundation of the Korean German Institute of Technology Seoul. Before, he was Vice-Director of the Media Museum and Head of the Medialab at Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie Karlsruhe. Blechinger graduated in History of the Arts and Ethnology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and earned his doctorate in Philosophy at Bergische Universität Wuppertal, department for Aesthetics and Design Theory.
